Recently, a team led by Professor John P.A. Ioannidis in Stanford University, together with Dr. Kevin W. Boyack and Director of research data analytic in Elsevier Jeroen Bass selected all the international scientific publications from 2019 to Oct 2020 that were highly cited and compiled two lists of report. Data source is from Scopus and the time of data retrieve is August 2021. The range of years selected from the database is from 1960 to 2020. They created a publicly available database of over 100,000 top-scientists that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. Separate data are shown for career-long and single year impact. Metrics with and without self-citations and ratio of citations to citing papers are given. Scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. Field- and subfield-specific percentiles are also provided for all scientists who have published at least 5 papers. Career-long data are updated to end-of-2020. The selection is based on the top 100,000 by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above. Among these top 2% scientists, the highest number of them are from USA, followed by UK, then Germany. Japan comes in 5th, Korea comes in 17th, Taiwan comes in 19th. Total of 1479 researchers in Taiwan are included. These 1479 researchers in Taiwan comes from 17 scientific fields with their distribution as shown below.
